H.L. On this split release OLD CORPSE ROAD continue the journey they began with their demo: Spooky British black metal paying tribute to Cradle of Filth, Hecate Enthroned or Bal Sagoth. The songs are not just long, they are really epic, extremely multi-faceted and inviting to listen to these dark tales again and again. Also "On the Surface" from THE MEADS OF ASPHODEL is a great rough track, strange that I only discovered this band with this split release. Favorite track: The Witch of Wookey Hole.

Venombullet666 This Split EP is worthwhile, not only do you get some fantastic Old Corpse Road songs, you also get some brilliant and interesting The Meads Of Asphodel songs too as well as their spin on some classics! the difference between the two bands and the changes in atmosphere/vibe throughout makes this CD so strong

I'd say this is worth getting even for people that are a fan of one of the two that might not know the other, it is a good introduction release whilst being fun and enjoyable all the same Favorite track: The Witch of Wookey Hole.

Old Corpse Road Darlington, UK

Old Corpse Road have carved their name into the UK black metal scene by producing classic, yet unique British black metal based on the dark folklore of Britain. The Darlington based 6 piece formed in 2007 and take their name from a coffin road in the Lake District.

Dynamically their music flows from fierce black metal through to powerful melodic passages and onto serene yet haunting moments.
