Venombullet666 Each song brings something slightly different to the table and the diverse vocals/spoken word really brings each mood to life, the atmospherical/Symphonic elements add to and compliment the intense as well as the calm parts of the album really well

This is my favourite Old Corpse Road album so far! Favorite track: Sea Fire.

stef if you like Midian-and-earlier era Cradle of Filth you really ought to give this a spin - it's full of bombast and melodrama but never silly, the production is clear but not over-polished or sterile, the synths add charming details, the riffs are powerful, the drumming is OTT, the varied vocals keep it dynamic.. it's a grand example of British black metal and Old Corpse Road's finest to date, I reckon

H.L. This is indeed a very British black metal release. The screams often remind me at Cradle of Filth and the spoken words vocals at Bal Sagoth. Further, "On Ghastly Shores Lays the Wreckage of Our Lore" is shaped by storytelling unothodox songwriting. A rare occasion, that I wish to read the lyrics while listening to an album. Check for example "The Ghosts of the Ruinous Dunstanburgh Castle" a 16 minutes monster track! And now I have to check the back catalogue of this interesting and unusual band. Favorite track: The Ghosts of the Ruinous Dunstanburgh Castle.

What can I say, except this album makes you feel like you're stuck on that ship & there's no getting out. Every minute of every track is finely detailed & filled to the brim with a dark yet beautiful atmosphere. If you love blast beats in black metal as well, this album has that covered. Favorite track: The Ghosts of the Ruinous Dunstanburgh Castle.

Nicholas Franco Truly as if early Cradle of Filth and early Bal-Sagoth had a baby in an English meadow and gave it speed.

Magnificently wrought and gorgeously literary, this is metal done right!
